The patient receives his or her own drug dosing plan and follows it till the end of the course. On the first treatment days the medication usually should be taken at a dosage of 0.5 mg. Then the dosage and the number of tablets per day are increased, according to the application plan.

Side Effects

The side effects that may occur after Champix's use are usually mild and not continuous. They pass by themselves. They may include: nausea, headache, dizziness, insomnia, sore throat and nose. If they persist and bother you, then contact your doctor.

More serious reactions are unlikely. However, if your health state has deteriorated significantly, or you notice any signs of allergy, then you should seek medical help immediately.

Pregnancy and Lactation

Be sure to tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.  Not enough data has been identified about whether Champix can harm a child. Therefore, its use within pregnant women or nursing mothers is not recommended.

Women should remember that smoking cigarettes during pregnancy can be dangerous for the future baby.
